...catching up on the last 2 weeks...

What a busy 2 weeks it has been-- where does our time go??? We have had a fun past two weeks. Griffin is getting around more and more, now pulling up on anything and walking around it. He gets a little daring at times and lets go with one hand. Last night while getting ready for his bath, he let go with both hands for a second and just stood there- He may be walking before we know it!! Those bottom two teeth are really popping up and just look too cute- I remember how much I said I was going to 'miss that gummy smile', but he is just precious with those two bottom teeth, and still shows off his gummy grin whenever he can...
Nana and Papa came up to visit and got stuck here a little longer with Ike making its debut on Houston last week. They headed home to find minimal damage to their home, just a couple of trees toppled over and loss of power, which they still don't have. Fortunately, the weather is cooler down there right now. God has truly blessed Houstonians with the weather right now and taken away that hot humidity. When I have gotten a rare chance to talk to them, they seem to be adjusting well. The meat had thawed from the freezer and my dad grilled it up, and they continue to buy more ice to keep it cold. They don't plan on leaving their home... My brother got some great pictures if you want to check them out: http://s190.photobucket.com/albums/z112/CStang06/ and type in 'bittersweet'. You then click on Hurricane Ike Sept 08 under the headings on the left. He lives Downtown right across from the Chase building which lost almost an entire side of windows from the storm- and it is incredible how much damage he captured with his camera...
We also had a couple of trips to Grapefest last week, one during a very hot time of the day- which was cut short because of the heat- and then we went back on Sunday with BEAUTIFUL temperatures and a nice, cool Fall breeze... It was great to get out as a family since Daddy had a Sunday off :-) yea!!
Yesterday, we had our monthly playdate with Hudson and Avery. This time it was at Hudson's house... We got a late start heading back home and Aurora had a blowout on the toll road. Two ladies, 2 tired babies- you would think someone would immedietly stop to help- not so much- Unfortunately, this did not end up being a "Tony Romo Operation Rescue" (we were too far away from MacArthur to catch him on the way to the game last night, I told Aurora)... Fortunately, after almost 10 minutes two very good samaritans stopped to help us (well did it themselves) and changed that tire in less than 10 minutes! It is amazing how many nice people there are out there (and then there is that police car who just sped right past us... grrr) We were headed on our way home once again... Our life is always an adventure!
As this week unfolds, I realize how close we are to October, Griffin's birthday is right around the corner. I do not know where this year has gone. He is growing up and changing so fast. He is truly so much fun and such a good, sweet little boy- we can't wait to see what he has in store for us next!! We are getting into 'planning mode' for his first birthday party... more to come on that, but think- Baseball... World Series... hmmm...
We hope you enjoy these pictures from the last couple of weeks! :-)

Can you see those bottom teeth?

Always happy :-)

Sweet Little Boy

Laughing at his Dallas Cowboys Rally Monkey

Spending some time with my Nana
Griffin could sit in Papa's lap for hours (literally if we let him) listening to him sing and tell stories- he is so content
One of Griffin's latest tricks with his sleep sack- can you find my arm???

Remember how Griffin LOVED sitting up in his bed and playing once he learned how to sit up on his own??? Well, now he loves to walk around the perimeter of his crib...
One of these days, I am going to break out of here...
Oooooo I don't want to go night night Mommy

Here is our happy boy walking around the coffee table

Hmmmm, shall I try to let go again?

Look at me!!

Grapefest 2008

More interested in my toys than everything else happening at Grapefest

Mommy and Griffin before we headed home

Did he get worn out at Grapefest? Apparently not enough--

Naptime? What???

Check out the video-- he was just knocking on the back of his crib and playing in there

Playtime with my Buds

We thought it would be cute to put each child on a riding toy--
Griffin, Avery and Hudson- remember the days when we propped them up against pillows next to each other??? Now they are sitting on their own on big toys :-)
Playing with the Leapfrog Table
Each child had their own side
Griffin and Hudson were just 'talking about it' and walking around the table... it was too funny!
