... actually, The Helwig Three have not been 'on the road again' since May, so it was due time to get in the car and take a road trip... This past weekend, we made our way down to Austin, as we have done the past few years over Labor Day Weekend... Last year, Mommy was just hoping not to go into 'labor' over Labor Day Weekend away from home. We went to see Sko, Papa C. and Uncle TyTy for a weekend of fun and excitement (and more firsts for Griffin)! I guess once he decided to crawl and get teeth, he was anxious to see what else he could do...
Griffin loved having his bath in the big sink in the kitchen- it was just the right size for him to splash around in, and his first time in the sink for a bath
Doesn't his smile say it all?

On Sunday, I went in to check on Griffin during his afternoon nap, and low and behold our little punkin' had decided he was going to stand up... something new and fun, who needs to sleep in the pack n play anymore? Griffin was all about seeing what all he could pull himself up on and stand with around the house after this- he even dared to hang on with one hand a few times.
On Monday, we headed to Round Rock to watch the Round Rock Express (Astros Farm Team) play at their Minor League Park. Griffin had fallen asleep in the car about 10 minutes before we pulled into the parking lot. As soon as he heard the baseball hit the bat, he was wide awake and very focused on the game. Little did we know that our 45 minute drive over there would eat up the first seven innings of the game! That's right, by the time we sat down in our great seats, it was the seventh inning stretch! We still managed to have a blast at Griffin's first baseball game (with many more to come)!
The fireworks and baseball hitting the bat captured his attention right as we walked in!

Griffin liked the mascot- we also traded in his Rangers hat for a Round Rock Express hat- it went with his Astros outfit a little better :-)

Since this was the last home game of the season, they invited the fans to come down after the game and run the bases. Daddy and Griffin had so much fun rounding each base-

Tagging third

Daddy thought about sliding into home plate, good thing he thought twice about that one!

We had so much fun visiting Sko, Papa C. and Uncle Ty Ty (and Charlie too). We love and miss you guys and will see you soon! Thanks for a fun weekend!

Looks like you all had a great weekend in Austin. The outfit with the baseball on the back is so cute! :)
I can't believe how big Griffin is getting. We'll have to get the boys together for a day at the park when it gets cooler
You are so fast lady, as you have probably already seen, kindergarten is not up on my blog, but wanted to wait until I put up Connor's 1st day of pre-school which was yesterday so maybe tonight. Plus daddy had fantasy football draft last night so many nights of getting ready.
Hope you all had a GREAT Quality time weekend.
Great pictures of the weekend! I love seeing Griffin in the same bed that Hunter and Reagan both slept in! It is so fun to share! I hope you guys can come see us someday soon. Then you will have pictures of the cousins to post!
Griffin looks so cute in his baseball cap. What a fun weekend!
Looks like a fun trip!
