onward to kansas

Well we are home and settled back in after a fun, long road trip to Kansas. This was Griffin's first out of state trip, and also first road trip over 4 hours... What a trooper! He did not get much sleep in over the trip, but had a great time with his Kansas families and loved meeting and playing with his cousins for the first time...
Seven hours in the car can call for desparate measures... after going through all of the toy cars, books, goldfish, cheerios, milk and juice we could- we resorted to a lemon shortbread Girl Scout cookie- Griffin's first cookie- it was a hit!
Do you see the look of satisfaction?

First Stop... Macksville, Kansas to Dede's House we go
Griffin and his cousins, Reagan and Hunter. They were so good with him and just played and played together. It was so neat to see them all together for the first time!

Hunter helping Dede make her homemade rolls

What a great little helper Hunter is!

Griffin loved going to the park in Macksville- first stop on the tractor "Vrrroom Vroom" says Griffin

Papa C. and Sko with all of their sweet Grandchildren

The Helwig Three

The Helwig Cousins

SO Sweet together

Reagan and Hunter (aka 'Spiderman') had so much fun making Aunt Leslie's hair 'pretty' for dinner and Aunt Leslie loved having her hair played with, of course!

This is the life...

Hunter was so good at keeping Griffin entertained and always kept him smiling

Sweet boys after bathtime

Uncle Carter/Daddy with arms full- Reagan just loved spending each moment with her Uncle Carter

Cousins before church

Reagan and Griffin were 'done' with pictures, but sweet Hunter was up for more with Dede

Thank you for the big jeep and animals Sko and Papa C.! Griffin loves pushing around the jeep especially, and saying "Vroom Vroom".
Second Stop...Wichita, Kansas to the Geist's House we go
Sweet Emily and Conner on a big 'Vroom Vroom' tractor

And Griffin looked at us and looked at the tractor as if he was thinking, 'you are going to stick me on this, while they get to ride in that?'

So we strapped him on with an adult close by and let Conner drive him around- not so much fun for him afterall, unless they were moving that is...

Watch out for this future Lady on Wheels!
I just love the look of determination in her face!

Everyone ready for bed??? Ha!

Sweet Cousins before we left yesterday
Emily and Conner were so sweet with 'Baby Griffin'.
Thank you for the John Deere tractor Conner and Emily- Griffin loves it and loves pushing it around everywhere!

We had so much fun with our families in Kansas in a short amount of time. Griffin is still trying to get caught up on his sleep, but all those extra wakeful hours were all the worth it!
