Six months... what a milestone!!! Griffin turned "Half a Year" old on Tuesday, April 22, 2008! Where does the time go? I feel like I say that each month, but it truly just flies by! This month has been filled with so many fun things... here are a few of our favorites...
Griffin is hugging and even kissing us these days- my new favorite thing on my "favorites" list is to have my baby boy grab my face and just hug me tight! If I say "Give me kisses", Griffin proceeds to open his mouth and plant a BIG wet kiss on my lips another new favorite on my list of "favorites"- we don't share those yet with anyone but Mommy and Daddy!! He will be happy to share his kisses when he learns how to kiss with puckered lips on the cheek, no worries! :-)
Griffin is grabbing both feet and just loves his "piggies". It is the sweetest thing to watch him go down to bed, as the first thing he does is crank both feet up in the air and pull them towards him.
Griffin recognizes his name and also the words "rice cereal" he gets the BIGGEST grin on his face when I ask him if he is ready for his 'rice cereal', he also continues to love to be sung to, read to, and just talked to in general. His favorite song is one that Mommy sings every morning and evening "I Love You". He smiles and sometimes even coo's along!
Griffin is also very close to sitting up on his own. He still teeter totters a little bit and needs Mommy nearby in case of a tumble, but he gets so proud of himself when he can do it all by himself!
He is beginning to be a lot more active as you will see in the pictures below- Griffin grabs anything within reach, so we have to watch out for what's around us. He loves grabbing Daddy's glasses off of his face and grabbing your face in general, but whenever we carry him around if there is anything in sight, he will go for it!
Griffin can now pick his paci up wherever it may be (again, within his reach) and he turns it, positions it in his hand just right and then can put it in his mouth without any help! He is quite the coordinated baby, unlike his Mommy ever was (and still is)...
Griffin has also really discovered his "furry brothers" this month... well, at least how they feel- he has known their loud barks long before he was born---sigh... He just LOVES following them around the house with his eyes and we are very slowly letting them come closer to Griffin, and with supervision, letting Griffin pet them- a LOT of supervision with Mr. Scrappy D. :-) Griffin just loves how they both feel and gets tickled over their silly faces, most especially on hot days when that long pink tougue is panting away.
Tomorrow we will go to a doctor (someone new) and he will get his six month shots and check up! This is one of Daddy's favorite and Mommy's least favorite (but favorite) days... Favorite to hear Griffin's "stats", as Daddy says, least favorite for the shots... We are anxious to meet Dr. Knapp and see what he has to say.
All in all, our little boy is growing and changing by the day! Literally, here lately he just looks so long and is really filling out his clothes. He has quite the personality, too, if you have not gotten to see it first hand, he is quite the "smiler", "pleaser", "flirt" and wherever we go, be it church, running errands, out to eat or just hanging out with friends and family, we hear over and over how "good", "laid back" and "easy going" our baby boy is... I am putting this in print so one day if I have to remind myself of this, I have it in writing :-) ha! We are so VERY grateful for our baby boy and each day I thank God for giving us the most amazing gift of all!
A Half Birthday would not be complete without a "Half" birthday cake and presents... Griffin loved the candles most of all! He also stuck his hand in the icing, but we wiped it all off before he put his hand in his mouth! Have to watch out for those early food allergies!
Happy 1/2 Birthday to Me?
Yea!!
